This is good but I have two suggestions. 1. Place a stack of wipe towels on the work station. Remember if you don’t use them all, throw the unused ones away, they must be considered contaminated. 2. If at any time during the tattoo session you remove and reinsert a needle cartridge into your machine you potentially contaminated the push rod. It is important to dismantle your machine to access and clean the internal push rod and push rod housing. Thanks the videos!

Thanks for the tutorial. Your speech is fine, I understand you no problem. I did an apprenticeship back in 75' and today is totally different than it used to be. I want to do Quality work and Big pieces but my training I am finding out was not anywhere near what I really needed to know. I am not good at the drop thing I have trouble making the shade I want so I ordered pre mixed Black and grey inks from Industry INK. I wonder if I am making a mistake relying on their mix. I learned a lot from just watching you in this video so I will get better at mixing in the future, but I will experiment a LOT on Fake skin. My BIG problem is depth, I know that I am going too light because the fake skin I am using, 3mm Real skin brand, always makes the black look grey it's either the skin, the ink, or I am not going deep enough. I wish I could show you a pic. I do a LOT of drawing and have learned how to shade with a pencil really well and I attempted to use my technique on paper to the fake skin and I got bad results, way too light. How do I get over that fear of going too deep and causing blow out? I have been " Riding the tube" so to speak and I am afraid it's too shallow. What length should I have the needle extend from the tube ? Thanks for your time and knowledge I really like watching you work. I can use any help I can get and You Tube I have found has a lot of varying techniques that confuse me. I am a cancer patient doing this to keep my mind off my issues and tattooing has always been a part of my life I want to do work on people before I die.

Is medium taper or long taper better for lines? Which is more common

Maybe it's just me but having lots of piercings i've had to buy lots of rings and bars. It's always been the smaller the number the larger the gage. not only is that with piercings but with medical needles and also wire size. When did tattoo needles change and go backwards?

Man I wish you could just get a license based on your work. No one wants to do an apprenticeship around here. So I watched videos like yours and others then started on fruit and fake skin. Also used the ball pen cart (wasnt as good of practice as the others but still fun). My artwork and work are already better than most shops around here. It's almost crazy to me how some of these guys are in shops. Ive recently started doing them on friends and others for free or they pay for materials (so practically nothing.) I explain im not officially licensed so I dont charge and this is all practice. Ive taken all the safety courses like blood paths course, cpr and first aid. Got certificates for all. No one will do an actual apprenticeship around here or want stupid amounts of money. Most I wouldn't want to learn from anyways. I've already had over 15 cover ups from shops. Done 100s now everyone satisfied not a single infection anything. I made a room for just tattooing. I keep it insanely clean. Seating and tables all stainless or I wrap in plastic and use industrial antimicrobial and antibacterial cleaning supplies on before and after. I autoclave anything I resuse and able to. Use only high end world famous ink for color and Dynamic for line work and grey shading. It's ridiculous I cant get licenced and get a shop or get into one. Ive had several say they would take me if i had the apprenticeship done but wont do it themselves. Its like tattoo artist around here are scared of competition or just lazy. Im also not taking an apprenticeship from someone who does bad work and I know I cant learn from. Some I'm actually shocked can't even actually draw well. Like some at all really. They basically google trace and do mediocre or terrible work. If I could show you some of the garbage coming from the shops its insane. Ive taken college art classes and have drawn since I was 5 and im 37 now. Thats all ive done my whole life is artwork. I sell digital artwork all the time but wanted to get into tattooing full time. I think I have an unique style and ive incorporated it into my tattooing. I do a comic book style mixed with some more realism but dynamic poses, and bold outlines with tight clean lines in the detail. Im good at packing bright bold colors and good at blending colors. I have really good color theory and ideas. I actually talk everyone into getting something closer to my style draw them something up and so far not a single person didn't not love it. I'll turn down things I know I cant do perfect and know 100% they'll be happy when im done. I get insane amounts of word of mouth and still dont charge hardly anything if anything especially if I love the design they want. I'm stuck and don't know what to do. I recently injured myself so I can't work a lot so moving or traveling is out of the option. I also have to take care of my daughter and hard to do a free apprenticeship full time or pay someone to do one. Especially when most want 7k plus and here you have to work for a year basically for free to get a license.

ive been using this machine as my daily since this video was posted. i ordered it after watching this haha, and honestly i absolutely love it. i got a bishop power wand liner not long after and use them together for most pieces but for some skin types i line with this one STILL using it for the entire process. specifically on thinner skin types and older clients where the bishop would be over kill. i call it ol reliable because its never once let me down. i cant recommend it enough , for the price and the quality its a no brainer this machine is a solid piece of kit. a friend of mine got the gen 2 version and its not as good at all, the 1st is a winner though for sure. have you used it much dave? curious about your 1 year later on it.
